My original review on the Sanyo eneloop NiMH cells was written closely two years ago. Since then, I have learned a lot more regarding the characteristics regarding eneloop and other low-self-discharge cells. After all It is not only when it comes to milliampere hours

I received various sets of Eneloops in February and label told they were devised in April - so they sat at warehouse for nine month. I put them into camera and they worked just fine. Kudos Sanyo!
I will have to likewise mention that Sanyo includes reusable battery holders with each set of four. These holders do not look very sturdy, but they utterly usable.

I like this detector

I've applied respective metal detectors off and on for a heap of years. While I would surely not classify myself as a hardcore-detecting hobbyist, I do try to do it decently when I participate.

One thing I have noticed is that there are a lot of metal-detecting "snobs" out there that love not one thing more than telling you that while your detector is cute, it might as well be a giant turd with earphones equated to theirs! It's weird--I like this sparetime activity because it's dissimilar / not mainstream, but when that stuff happens, it may as well be golf...

Anyway - I'm not into this sideline sufficient to spend $700 - $1500 on a detector, but I do want to get my moneys worth. There are A LOT of reviews on the web for this peculiar detector, and I would say that 1 in 10 were negative, with the rest being very positive. For $200, I gave it a shot. My findings:

The good:

When I received the device, I walked out into my backyard to play around a little, and immediately, with a resounding "DING", found a penny in regards to 4 inches deep. It seems to in truth like coin shooting

The discrimination and sensitivity settings work well, and the respective settings (coins, all metal, jewelry, etc...) work reasonably well-- as far a coin shooting, the find commonly is precisely what the detector says it is.

I've read a lot of reviews slamming the "pinpoint" feature. Honestly, after I READ THE BOOK and played with it for a couple minutes, I found that it worked rather well.

It seems to work very well down to with regards to 8". It may work well beyond that... I in truth haven't had the probability yet to hunt anyplace for genuinely deep items.

It's very light, and the display crams a lot of usefull stuff into a little area without being confusing.

If you turn it off while you're digging, the batteries last a long, long time.

The bad:

It uses 4 "AA" batteries rather of a 9-volt.

The shaft is a bit on the flimsy side, altho it is beauteous easy to stabilize if you desire.

It only has a couple tones - a dull beep for trash or unknown items, and a 'DING!' for coins. Honestly though, after I got employed to them, they were plenty.

It seems to like a more or less slower sweep than most detectors.

*Major Gripe* There is no volume knob. Get with the program guys, that thing is LOUD!

In short:
The bottom line is this - you genuinely need to read the book that comes with it and spend an hour getting aquinted with the device for it to actually work for you. I like it, and for the cash wouldn't think twice regarding buying another.

Garrett ace 250 is a good machine

Hi, pardon me for my bad english. I purchased this ace 250, is my firstborn metal detector, i found a lot of coins, not gold or silver until now. In my garden, and in sand beach. Is a genuinely good machine until 18 20 centimeters max (coins). It discrimines well iron from coins, is easy to use, is sensitive, battery have long life, and it tell you incisively proof of target. In sand beach is good too, no problem. It is perfective for detect coins, not the best for detect gold. The pin pointing is good too, you need to exercise to improve your precision, and of course reads the manual and see the dvd, in the initial week you will recognise this good machine, his differents sounds. For beginners and not so on, very good metal detector (until 20 centimeters for coins). Good luck!

Fun and easy to use out of the box.

It lives up to the recommendations. I am disabled but the light Ace 250 doesn't hold me back. The enclosed video is a tremendous help in understanding the LCD panel. It is fun along with outstanding exercise and easy to use. It identifies what is detected rather accurately. If it finds trash, I just keep searching and digging with predictable results.

This sucks big time.

The initial thing, I have a problem with was price. It was suppose to be $0.99 each. I salaried for two of them and I had to pay $10.00 for S&H. Then they shipped it using DHL. I order a item the same day and I got that a long time a go. USPS is way better then DHL. The end result is, I didn't get my battery cover yet and I very unhappy. I don't blame DHL, but I blame Eforcity for using them. And making me pay more then I was suppose too. I will never buy from them again. I don't commend Eforcity for nothing. and If I don't get my items soon, I want my cash back.

Looks may be deceiving!

LTS LTD08HTDK 8-Camera H.264 Realtime DVR Security System with 500GB, Mobile Phone Live View, VGA output
I searched around for a reasonably decent surveilance scheme with a fixed budget. I thought this was it. But, I soon came upon not everything is what it's cut out to be. When I received this system, I read over the box, before opening it to see if everything matched the description on Amazon.com. It looked good, then I opened the box and soon started out to be disappointed. The packaging looks great, everything nice and clean, but I soon encountered the camera base & mount bracket were not the same as that pictured with the description! Then I started reading the manuals and looking at schematics provided, to find that the description is misleading in it is portrail of what this scheme may do and how it does it, and client service from the manufacturer is exceedingly disappointing. The company that provides this product has poor client service, the sales staff does not recognise what they are doing or saying. The technical aid is non-existent...you get a message to leave a call back number--they'll get in touch with you!???? What kind of technical support is that? If you do get lucky to talk with a tech, you speedily learn you made a bad choice--at least I did!
This 8-channel scheme only records in CIF--but you don't know that until you get the package! It boasts a Sony CCT camera, but it is only a analog camera with a Sony chip inside--no way to know for sure. The camera mounting bracket and base are cheap...it's not adaptable like shown in the description--it's a 5" tube with a base; and the length of the camera cables is shorter that the length of the mounting bracket with base, therefore leaving the BNC connecters exposed and vulnerable to theft or disconnect/damage by any intruder. This scheme may be what others tout it to be, but my experience has been terrible and I would not commend this item to anyone! Sorry Amazon.com, but this item did not live up to your reputation!

Good inexpensive system

I purchased and installed this system when it comes to three months ago to watch over our retail store, and have been happy with it. My biggest complaint is the instruction manual - the Chinese manufacturer ought to have skimped on how much they were paying their Chinese to English translator. It's not a hard system to set up until you get to the internet and iphone functionality - here the instructions often times left me scratching my head, but with galore time, trial & error, I figured everything out. I suppose someone well versed in networking protocols would breeze through this set up in a snap, but it took me rather a few hours to figure it out and dial everything in.

That said, it's genuinely super amazing to be competent to dial up my store on my iphone any time day or night, or watch it in better solution on my partner's laptop (the iphone solution is on the low side from the compression used). The cameras are not very sharp, but they are adequate. The night imagination works well and the motion detection seems good. I think I've been getting regarding a month's worth of video stored on the hard drive before it starts to re-write over itself, with the dvr set to record on motion only. I haven't tried the audio recording yet, but i just purchased a mic so we'll see. The interface in the dvr itself is finelooking clunky - looks almost like a pre-windows dos sort of deal, though it does use a mouse. It's best to access everything through the windows explorer plug-in (once you figure out how to install the damn thing). The plug-in works well, permitting you to access all of the dvr's functionality over the internet, from adjusting settings to downloading and saving video files.

One other mark versus this unit is the format it stores it is video files in: ".264" I wasn't capable to find any kind of application for a mac that could play this file - quicktime didn't like it, and neither did anything else I tried it on. ".264" is the file extension on files you get when you put a thumb drive directly into the unit and tell it to offload files. Luckily, if you use the explorer plug-in over the internet, it will download these files and you may watch them without delay through the plug-in, and it gives you the option to output them as .avi files. One more reason to only access this unit through the internet interface. Oh, and the usb port on the unit only likes thumb drives, not hard drives. Also, it seems that the internet explorer plug-in only works on a pc (i have to use my girlfriend's computer). There might be a workaround for this, but I haven't figured that out yet.

Overall, it's a great unit for the price. In October of 2009, 8 camera dvr systems were running around $1200 everyplace I looked, so this unit was a real bargain at almost half the price. I'd in all likelihood give it 3 stars for the instruction manual language headaches, weird video format, and clunky dvr interface. Since it's so cheap, gets the occupation done, and has the cool iphone and internet explorer plug-ins, i give it 4 stars.

Cameras good - Motion Detector Bad

I've owned this system for when it comes to 2 months.

The quality of picture is very good in day light and OK at night using infrared, it looks like a very grainy black and white picture. (I have the eight camera scheme which does not grant for HD recording which the four camera scheme says can.)

The motion detection feature is close to useless. Shadows of my trees blowing in the wind, bugs flying in front of the camera lens, and the all over the street neighbor's patio light at night will turn the recorder on but humans walking up my driveway, down my walk, and ringing my front door bell won't and I have four dissimilar cameras covering these views (and it's a tiny area equated to most).

The recording and playback system is a problem too because it saves recorded files in half hour increments for you to access. So, if the camera motion detector picks up a bug flying in front of your camera and turns the camera on for two minutes at say 4:03 - 4:05 and then a real event happens at say 4:15 it won't record it because there is already a file in the 4:00 - 4:30 slot.

It will play back recordings at normal speed or 2, 4, or 8 times speed. You ought to manually select each half hour recording slot for each camera. I haven't found a "play back all" feature. This wouldn't be a problem if the motion detector worked in the right way and you only had a half a dozen recordings to review a day but a heap of untrue recordings means a lot a work reviewing what's been recorded.

I haven't tried the live view over the internet options.

So what are my options? Uninstall all the wiring run through the attic and un-mount the cameras (at substantial cost) and return it? Run it in neverending record and not bother reviewing recordings until I think something happens? I haven't decided.

FYI, as usual, Amazon delivered this scheme in less than five days even altho I applied the free deliverance option.
