Great Mid-Priced Metal Detector - Recommended
The "Bounty Hunter Quick Draw II" (QDII) is a very good, feature rich, mid-priced metal detector. After doing a lot of exploration for a "real" metal detector as a gift for my teenage son, I found the features for the price made the QDII the clear choice.

The QDII has features that are in general only found on higher priced units:

* The LCD screen may indicate what type of metal has been found
* Indicates approximate depth
* The Notch Modes work well for filtering out most trash items

We have actually enjoyed using this sensible and precise metal detector!

The included "bonus" items are a Carrying Bag (a little smallish, but functional) and a "Bounty Hunter Pinpoint Pinpointer" (a little metal detector applied to aid locate items in the ground). Both are good quality and utile to have with the QDII.

Highly recommended!

The Quickdraw II is a great all-around metal detector. I for the most part use it in the "All metal" mode but have likewise used it to notch out undesirable metals where it performs as advertised. I've dug up relics and coins, and the coin ID has been precise 99 percent of the time. You get employed to the dissimilar sounds and after a while may guess what metal you're digging (tab, rusted can, etc). I don't believe the depth indicator works accurately on mine so I use it as a guide moreso than gospel. Many detector ads tout depth finding capacity but how deep do you actually need to go? Most of the stuff you'll find is not down that deep (2-8 inches or so - course your milege may vary). Took it to the beach and was satisfied. In the arid sand, it performed very well (get a good heavy-duty sand scooper for the beach). However, when applied too close to the water or in wet sand, the detector gives off some untrue readings as the sodium in the water drives it crazy. To adjust, I turned the sensitivity almost all the way down and was competent to use the detector - but doing so sacrifices capability to observe a heap of objects and in all likelihood gives up depth. The computer module is not water proof so you probably don't want to get too close anyway. I purchased the 10-inch coil for the beach and was pleased as it allows coverage of more area in one swipe and penetrates a little deeper. Difficulty with the 10-inch is pin-pointing the emplacement of the object when digging in the world but not an issue at the beach (much having little impact to scoop sand than earth). The 8-inch coil that comes with the unit is much better suitable for "zeroing in" on your find. Overall, I'm very pleased with the unit and highly recomment it for popular intent metal detecting. If detecting at the beach was my main focus, then I would look for a dissimilar detector.

Niiccceeee !!!!!
shipped on time necessary to me. Use product to spend time with daughter and she loves it easy to use, and getting even easier. have not in truth found to much yet but each time we go out we find a little more. necessary to me not to admonish her kids need to find those coins or what ever so not to get bored. product is lite and lasting no toy here. easy to understand directions even for beginner. nice displays and audio alerts you to buried targets. depeth of target a little off even if you place coil flat on ground not a big deal. I think this product is well worth the cash for what you get.
